The Grand Teton national park is just south of Yellowstone. The park contains the magnificent Teton mountains which rise beyond 13000ft. The town of Jackson is a good base for visiting the area. Visiting in October shows the autumn colours although snow can appear any time. The Snake river overlook, made famous by Ansel Adams, is a great viewpoint in morning light.
